Hello,I have been getting unexplained small scabs (about the size of a match head) on my face for several months. They tend to be around my chin and cheeks. They do eventually heal and disappear but are replaced by others. They can also bleed and be quite itchy. I would very much welcome your advice, thanks.
I can understand your concern for scabs on the face.
You have not given a brief idea regarding your age, sex and related medical history so that I could have guided the best possible cause for your problem.
In my opinion there could be three important cause s of the scabs:
- Acne vulgaris- simple acne which occur at the age of 15-25 years.
- Acne Excoriee- Due to pinching and scratching the skin on face.
- Acne Rosacea- Due to extra sensitivity of the blood vessels of face.
It requires through personal examination of the area to diagnose any of the above entity. Even then I suggest you to not touch your face at all as is the sole most important cause of the formation of scabs on face.
I suggest you to protect yourself from direct environmental exposure and can meet a dermatologist for best guidance.
Take care.
