Suggest Remedy For Scaly Red Belly Skin

The inside of My belly button is red and appears the skin is coming off. The skin looks scaly also. I try to keep it dry everyday, and have tried anti fungal and yeast infection meds. It is not going away and I have had the problem for one year. I have been to three Dr s and none of the treatments have worked. What should I try next, I am worried this may be a bigger problem.

Hi.
As per your case history you are having either fungal infection or sebopsoriasis.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply an emollient cream like Enmoist cream twice daily on it.
3. Apply an antifungal cream like clotrimazole cream twice daily on it.
4. Take oral fluconazole 150mg once a week for 4 weeks.

Other treatment options are topical steroid, oral antibiotics, itraconazole and terbinafine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
