Hello,

You are suffering from severe headache since 3-4 days. This pain is on the right side of the head. To get rid of severe headache you can take acetaminophen, one SOS when needed. You can also take Sumatriptan, it is very effective. You are suffering from migraine as it is hurting you on the right side and lingers for long. The cause should be controlled to reduce the frequency of headache (migraine). Stay away from migraine triggers like lack of adequate sleep, do not skip meals, avoid getting exposed to strong smell (of paints, food, etc.), avoid exposure to bright sunlight, do not over exert yourself.

Avoid taking oily food, fizzy drinks, cheese, additives, etc., that may trigger the symptoms. As you switch to healthy lifestyle, the symptoms should reduce. You can have an eye check up done to stay on the safer side. However, if the migraine headache is persistent, you should get clinically examined by a GP and get blood workouts, tests, CT, MRI, EEG done. You will be treated accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
