Suggest Remedy For Severe Itching In Body While On Treatment For Hypothyroid
For two days now I ve been severely itchy all over my body to the point I m using a wire hairbrush to scratch and breaking the skin surface. Today nausea took over as did severe heartburn which is odd since I ve barely eaten anything. I am severely hypothyroid and currently on Nature Throid for treatment (had RAI for Graves Disease), along with end stage adrenal fatigue I ve been treating thru vitamin supplements. Antihistamines aren t helping nor is anything else. Any suggestions as to potential cause or even just suggest a helpful treatment?
Hello, thank you for trusting HCM. It is a very common symptom of hypothyroidism to get itchiness and dermatological problems. Please make sure you are getting proper thyroid hormone replacement, ask you doctor for TSH T3 T4 and make sure you dont need to adjust dosage of your hormone replacement therpay. Best, Dr. Ahmad
