Suggest Remedy For Severe Pain And Lump In Throat

I have a painful throat, it feels like a sore throat but worse. I take pain meds to kill the pain. It affects my vocal cords and makes it hard to yawn or cough (which I also have). It also feels like I have a lump on the back of my tongue near the beginning of my throat.

Try gargling with warm saline or better still Disprin, and also do some steam inhalations. Drink lots of water. Do not take too many painkillers.
Eat soft and bland foods which are easy to swallow- eg. soups and porridge, and cut back on tea, coffee, alcohol and smoking.
If the above steps do not help even after 2- 3 days, it is better to get yourself checked out properly by an ENT specialist.
