Suggest Remedy For Severe Redness And Itching On Leg

I have intense itching at the base of my calf, no rash, deep red under the skin. This is on my left leg . I had the same thing about a month ago on the right leg . Started out as a small area and now is about 1 inch wide and 5inches long around the base of my calf. The redness lasted two or three weeks on t h e to g by side.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe redness and itching on leg which can occur due to conditions like contact dermatitis , allergic reaction due to detergent, soap , fragrance , chemical, metal such as in jewelry, an animal bite, or an insect sting and lyme disease. It could be due to underlying systemic pathology. Need not to worry. Avoid touching or pricking these areas. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antihistamine , corticosteroid ointment and may give adrenaline short . For now take benadryl twice a day , apply cold compresses and avoid any cosmetic product .
