Suggest Remedy For Severe Swelling In Both The Ankles

Hello, I am a 71 year old man and have had severe swelling in both my ankles especially my left, when pressing down on my shin I get indentation marks that last for about 10 to 15 secs before becoming normal again. I have had a pacemaker, and a 5 bypass within the last 5 years; and have asthma. Is this something that I need to contact my doctor on or is there something I could do to make it better?

Yes, I think that you should not delay and show it to your physician. There can be three causes for this type of swelling.
1.Weak heart which is not able to pull blood from the veins.
2.Low protein in body which is causing swelling.
3.Asthma medication which can cause side effects.
So these three factors need to be investigated and then treatment has to be started. it is not due to any trauma that is for sure.
Avoid taking any pain killer, keep your blood pressure in normal and do not take excessive salt.
