Suggest Remedy For Severe Throat Pain After Taking Norvasc
My 86 yr old mother took her Norvasc this morning. It stuck and dissolved on back of tongue and in her throat. she has severe throat pain and is hoarse. what treatment can she undertake to relieve soreness. we are having a blizzard and I cannot get her to the ER. Drinking very cold water makes it hurt more.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Norvasc is amlodepin tablet and does not matter if it is dissolved there at the back of the tongue. Give her sips of warm water and should be fine in a short period of time. It is possible that she has pre-existing problem in the throat and that is the reason the tablet got stuck and dissolved. Never heard of this tablet causing such a problem. You will have to take your Mother to the ER or to the ENT preferably to see if there is any other lesion in the throat. If present , then to go bio further investigations. I hope this answer helps you and your Mother.
