I have little bumps on my arms and back that appeared out of no where and look almost exactly like what some Fordyce spots look like. It first started on my lower back; I then took a shower and woke up the next day with more on my upper back and on both arms. What is this and what should I do to help or get rid of it? I had called my primary physician and he said to use bacitracin and hydrocortisone cream for a week and if it does not help to come in. What do you think?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of small bumps on arms which seems to be due to bacterial infection in these areas leading to folliculitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply betnovate on small bumps twice a day for 2-3 days. Wash them with salicylic acid containing body wash. Avoid touching or pricking bumps. If condition doesn't start getting better in a week then consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment. Doctor may prescribe oral antibiotic along with chemical peeling. Avoid touching and pricking it with sharp objects. Exfoliate your skin once a week to remove the dead skin.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
