Suggest Remedy For Snap In Knee Followed By Pain And Tingling

Hi- I am 60, female, 25 lbs overweight, but very strong and very active. Have been all my life. Today I was simply walking and heard a loud snap behind my left knee. Totally debilitated me. Couldn't put weight on leg. Required assistance to get back to my car. Have come home, taken ALEVE, elevated and iced. Pain is still intense, leg throbbing and tingling. Can I wait this out for a day or two, or does it need medical attention?
