Suggest Remedy For Soreness, pain And Swelling In Index Finger
I cut my left index finger the middle of June. As it would not stop bleeding and the nail was nicked, I went to the ER. I had to have five to six injections to numb the finger and three stitches. The nail is fine, the cut healed with a bump that is sore but not warm or bright red or yellow. The swelling from the injections went down two weeks ago, and now has returned. I cannot bend the finger. One can see the swelling from the bottom to the middle knuckle. The top of the finger is not swollen, but the feeling is like sandpaper. It is all very perplexing as this has been since mid June and one would think that it would be basically fine by now.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. A local examination by an orthopedician is well appreciated in your case. Tendon and nerve injuries should be ruled out. Tendon cuts are usual in finger injuries. In case of any tendon injury a tendon repair will help your finger to have a normal movement. Physiotherapy along with this also will be needed. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
