hi, i am a female of age 25 yrs with a height of 4 by 9 inches. i became sick recently and consulted a doctor and was given treatment for viral fever. within two days, things did showed up well but my concern is that my stomachaches has not gone away still plus i have been undergoing diarrohea for three days now. so, could you please tell me a quicker cure for this matter. thank you.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Viral fever can cause different types of symptoms and can affect any system and in your case it looks to have affected gastrointestinal system. Since there is still diarrhea going on I would advise you the following: Get the stool examined to see if there is associated bacterial infection and get treated with an antibiotic, metronidazole if there is any bacterial infection. Otherwise the management remains same whether this is bacterial or viral and that is to maintain the hydration and electrolyte balance by taking taking adequate amount of water, electrolytes and fluids. Take Probiotics, multivitamins. If the diarrhea is intractable take Loperamide under Doctor's instructions.
