Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi . I am 26 years old. Recently I have noticed that I a not able to burp properly. Its not like that I am able to. But there is always something below neck I feel. There is one more this that I am not able to digest properly. Even if I eat very less food, then also I feel my stomach is not well. I think both these BURP & DIGESTION think are related. Most of the times I over eat. This thing started last week when I over eat that night. Please tell me what to do.
Noted the history and understood the concerns. Burping and indigestion can be related to each other, hence I would like to advise you the following:
- Send the stool and blood for tests. - Ultrasonography of the abdomen and X-ray of the abdomen in standing position. - A trial with a PPI like Omeprazole, Domperidone as motility regulator and antacids. - If the stools indicate an intestinal infection then a course of an antibiotic, Metronidazole and probiotics should help you the best. - If there is still no complete resolution of the symptoms get an Upper GI Endoscopy to know the exact cause and treated accordingly. - Eat small and frequent foods; soft and bland diet.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chadrakant
