Suggest Remedy For Stomach Flu Causing Dehydration

Hi I am a woman who has been very sick with the stomach flu for the last 3 days. I have to eaten anything, but I have tried drinking liquids like ginger ale without bubbles and water. I have not managed to successfully keep any of these liquids down. I am extremely thirsty and weak. I can t walk to the washroom without fainting or having to sit down and rest. How can I become hydrated again? ( I am not pregnant)

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of stomach flu for the last three days and in spite of taking so many medications you can not keep anything down, feeling weak, fainting on walking to the bathroom or having to sit down and rest.
My thoughts:
Since this is so much of a weakness, you should rush to the ER to get re-hydrated by intravenous fluids, get clinical evaluation, examination and investigations of the stool, blood and urine.
Proper diagnosis will lead to the proper treatment and you can recover well.
You also need a PPI and injectable antiemetic to stop vomiting.
Since you can not keep anything down the input is nil and you will be loosing fluid and electrolyte through vomit, loose stools, urine, sweating and respiration. Hence the need of urgency as you seem to be already dehydrated and may be with electrolyte imbalance and may be septicemia if infective component is present for the gastroenteritis.
