Suggest Remedy For Sun Burn

My daughter was swimming all week long. We kept sunscreen on her face at all times. She has a sore to the right of her nose that is turning white when we apply neospirin. It is a round sore and it looks as though the skin has been scraped off but she says she didn t hurt it anywhere. We believe it is from the sun. What should we do? Should we continue with the neosporin even though it turns it that white color?

Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
Acute sun burns are sometimes frightening but nothing to worry as its pretty easy to manage.
Just application of neosporin would not be sufficient.
Generally, I advise short course of prednisolone along with local application of mometasone cream and soothing calamine lotion twice a day.
Antihistaminics and antioxidant tablets can additionally be added.
Use high SPF broad spectrum sunscreen everytime before going out in sun.
Cold sponging will definitely help.
Hope this will take care of your issue.
Wish you best of health.
Thank you
