Suggest Remedy For Swelling And Pain In Inner Side Of Calf

Tonight while playing ice hockey, I was hit in the inner side of my calf with a hockey puck(slapshot). There is not padding where I was hit so my calf took the full force of the slap shot. It is quite swollen and extremely painful to walk on. If I walk on my toes on that leg, it is not as painful to walk, as oppose to walking normal with my foot flat on the ground. Also, it is very painful to touch and where it is swollen there is a knot or a hard mass forming. Is this something serious, or will it simply subside over time?
Thanks!
