Hello my name is Kristy and I got into a 4 wheeler wreak May first and had some facial trauma done to my face. One thing that i had done was a orbital fracture and and i have lost most of the feeling in that side of my face and teeth;which i read was commen. however my eye has begun to sink and it looks like a golf ball compared to the other eye and my next appt with a plastic surgeon is not intill July which has me alittle worried because my eye does not seem to be losing anymre of the swellin and the eye is way different than other eye, so i was wonderin if someone could point me in the right directtion of what type of doc i should contact thank you
hi, gone through your case, but as you have mentioned that you have undergone a repair for orbital fracture and if there is no injury to the eyeball there are least chances of eyeball sinking. Though swelling of lids many a times appear as sunken or small eye ball.I think you should see an ophthalmologist for complete eye checkup and rule out hematoma. swelling of nearby soft tissues is common in cases of fracture which may take 1-2 months to resolve even on medication.It requires antiinflammatory agents like diclofenac, serratiopeptidase and in severe cases also chymoral forte.
