I have been smoking marijuana for about 7 years now pretty consistently. Recently i have noticed that my bottom lip has been swelling. It gets larger the more i smoke and when i dont smoke for awhile the swelling goes down. Is this an allergic reaction? What could be causing my bottom lip to swell?
Hi. As per your case history you are having angioedema. My treatment advice is - 1. Avoid fast food and food with artificial colors for 2 months. Stop smoking as soon as possible. 2. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 3. Other treatment options are oral steroid, hydroxyzine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
