I have pain in my left testicle, and in my lower abdomen above the testicle. It has been hurting for 3 days. I have looked and there is no swelling or bumps on the testicle, but hurts very badly. Pain accompanies movement, as well as sitting or lying down. What could these be symptoms of?
Hi. Thanks for your query and an elucidate history of severe pain in the left testicle and lower abdomen, but on self-examination there is no swelling or lump in the left testicle. This indicates that there may be referred pain from the left lower ureter due to stone or obstruction of any cause. The other reasons can be varicocele or epididymo-orchitis. The can be well diagnosed by ultrasonography and color doppler examination of the abdomen and the scrotum along with other tests of blood, urine, stool and semen. Clinical examination by a General Surgeon or your PCP can add on the diagnosis and can start the proper treatment.
