Suggest Remedy For Unevenness In Front Teeths

Hi my name is Omar and I am 20 years old. About three weeks ago I chipped off a little tip from my front left incisor tooth while biting on a whistle. I bit it so hard that end up chipping off a little tip from my tooth. the next day I went to a dentist nearby and all she did was to put some anesthetic and got it smoothed up. when she was done i noticed that she had smoothed up a little bit too much that it didn't look even like my other front teeth. I 've thought about going back and getting a cap underneath my tooth to make it even. this has gotten to a point that I cannot ignore the problem and its really affecting my self esteeem. I will really appreciate your advice in helping me solve my problem

Hello,
If you have a chip or an uneven area that is only into the enamel, smoothing and reshaping to blend the tooth and adjacent teeth can be considered. Sometimes reshaping slightly your other teeth can improve your overall smile. Other options include restorations that alter tooth structure. Bonding, a veneer or a crown are other options to consider. Realize that a crown will remove your natural tooth structure. Veneers are often used for multiple front teeth when you want to change color and improve alignment. Bonding is often a good initial choice if you can be careful with your front tooth. Excess stress will cause the bonding to break, but it can be replace. Often, I try this with my patient and if does not last well, another option is considered.
Obtain some opinions with a clinical exam. Orthodontics may be another option depending on your bite. There are many esthetic options with today's advanced technologies and you should definitely explore these. There is no need to be self conscious and not address your concern.
Thank you for your inquiry. I am sure you will find a great solution .

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
The chipped off tooth structure can be restored with a tooth color restorative material like composites or veneers. If the tooth structure is lost more than half of the tooth structure, then the tooth can be restored with crown and RCT.
otherwise only composite restoration is enough.
I hope my answer will help you. Take care.
