Suggest Remedy For Urinary Infection And Suggest Nutritious Diet For Stroke Patient
Hi,
3 months back my brother got Brain Stroke, his age is 33 years. He is totaly on bed now, going through recovery phase .
My question is about two things
1. he usually gets urine infection after every 3 or 4 days , as he is on Silicon bag.
2.He is also on NG , need to find out the best and nutritious diet for him as he is only taking ISOCAL and BENE Protein every three hourly. He looks bit weak.
Hi. With per urethral catheter in place, it is natural to acquire urinary tract infection. Unless symptoms develop secondary to UTI, it does not require treatment. U need to change the catheter every 4 weeks. If symptomatic, he should be treated with urine culture sensitive antibiotics.
As far as diet is concerned, patient ideally requires low fat, low sugar, low cholesterol diet. On Ryle's tube is being given the correct diet. Once he improves, he should take more vegetables, fruits and whole grains and cut back on meat, dairy products, egg yolk, salt, etc.
