Hi my 8 year old daughter has had many urinary infections over the past 4 years and we have had tests on her kidneys etc - all seems ok. Wets herself a tiny bit from time to time, occasionally (well, about once a week) soils herself a little bit, and tends to 'crouch' when she needs a wee desperately and isn't near a toilet. Anyway, recently she says that her 'feet' are stinging/aching after she urinates. Tonight she said it was really hurting for quite a while. I am convinced it really is happening (i.e. she is not a hypochondriac). Do you have any idea what may be causing it? she says that her 'fanny' aches for a few seconds after weeing too, which makes me think she has yet another infection??? We try to make sure she drinks a lot of water, although can't check this at school. Please help! Mollie
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
* As per my surgical experience, the recurrent urinary infection of your daughter needs to be get evaluated for the reasons underlying which can be calculus in the urinary system, hygiene related, hydration compromise, low immunity or others.
I recommend to undertake ultrasound, CT IVP with or without diagnostic cystoscopy for definite management guidelines.
Wish this will help your toddler.
Regards.
