Suggest Remedy For Urinary Troubles After Radiation Treatment For Prostate Cancer
my husband just finished radiation treatments for prostate cancer. He is haing problems urinating, the doctor prescribed 10mg of Terazosin 2pills 2 x a day its is starting not to work as well as it once did. The doctor also prescribed 5mg of Finasteride 1 pill 1 x a day, which doesnt work at all. He has also tried Saw Palmetto, doesnt work at all. If the doctor raises the doseage on the Terazosin will it help and will he become imune to it and have to get the doseage raised regularly for it to keep work9ng?
Hello, Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query. It is possible that your husband has developed a narrowing of the urinary passage which is a complication of radiation therapy. He should see his urologist to be examined and if the narrowing is significant, the urologist would treat him by dilating the passage. Has he been checking his PSA? If it is low, a recurrence of the cancer is less likely. Please do not hesitate to ask if there are more queries. take Care Dr Noble Zachariah
