I have been diagnosed with a vitreous detached retina. My optometrist presently tells me to watch to see if incidents increase where I see lighting neon lights and waviness in my left eye on a more regular basis. He also said if my sight goes dark, I should immediately see a doctor. My question is should I be seeking more aggressive treatment and also be seen by an opthamologist? I am going to Hawaii in a day or so and will be in the sun.
