i am sheflin, male , 24yrs old from chennai. i am suffering from harsh voice for past 2 months . i went to a ent specialist last week . he examined my throat thro endoscopy and said i has developed vocal cord nodule for which he prescribed medications with diet restrictions and complete rest.after a week yesterday he examined again saying surgery could be the option to get back my normal voice.he also said it would be a minor operation.i am worried about the procedure through which i get back my normal voice.i am also concerned about the inflammation or any other complications on my throat which could be caused after surgery.please advice me whether surgery is required to get back my normal voice.if then explain about the surgery and also certain precautions to be observed before and after the surgery for speedier recovery .awaiting for your response , thank you.

The possible treatment is already underway. Please request your ENT Surgeon to continue treatment for 2 more weeks. Take a full rest for speech- no talks at all. Take a slate and a pencil - this works. Surgery to be considered only after a test after 2 more weeks. Yes this is a very small surgery and has the best results in the expert hands. Get this operated only if required and by an expert in the field.
