Suggest Remedy For Vomiting, Nausea, Frequent Diarrhea And Gas At The Age Of 81
My grandmother is 81 yrs old. She has almost daily nausea, vomiting, frequent diarrhea, gas. She had 13 in of her colon removed about 20 years ago and not a lot of problems since. Until about 2 years ago when my uncle, her son, passed away. She drinks ensure a lot, has not so great eating habits, smokes mail order cigarettes, and takes at least 7-10 medications. She attempts to eat food, then vomits it up almost half of the time.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your Grandmother who is 81 years old. She has nausea, vomiting, frequent diarrhea, gas that developed since the death of her son passed away. I would advise you the following: This may be irritable bowel syndrome started after the stress and anxiety of loosing someone dear and near. But to confirm this, it is necessary to have the following and normal: Tests of stool, blood and urine. Ultrasound and CT scan of abdomen. Colonoscopy if permitted. If the cause is found, treat it with antibiotics, metronidazole and probiotics. If all the investigations are normal, this is IBS and get treated with anxiolytic medication.
