Sir, my mother age is nearly 64 years old,6months back on the top of the right hand side foot a small area of (2 sq cm) white patch found and we approched a Dermatalagist he said that nothing will happen and he gave some B-complex tablets and Syrup.But the days passing in my observation it is increasing,for permanent cure pl give me your advice and whom I want to consult. Pl advice what type of diet that she have to take,she is purly Veg.

Your mother is of 65. She has vitiligo on dorsa of right foot. If the patch is active and increasing in size, you may go for treatment. If it is stable, avoid treatment. Even age is also the favtor which decreases the chances of cure. The patch on foot is mosttly resistant to treatment. Still, you may consult dermatologist for preventive treatment. Trioxsalen tab25 mg daily in morning and levamisole 50 mg at night may be given to her. And iI would like to advise either tacrolimus oint 0.1%. Or pimecrolimus cream exposure to sun may be helpful.
I generally advise vitamin C and lactic acid containing diet for restriction in my patients having such problem.
