Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had pain just above my pelvic bone for a couple of months. Went to my Md and he tested urine, it showed protein but no other signs for a uti. since i had pain and smelly urine he went ahead and treated me with sulfa antibiotics. My pain has now gone to a larger area. It feels like a baby is moving and putting presure on my back, ribs and uterus. I have had normal periods for the most part and a home test came back neg. Where should i go from here?
Your symptoms could be related to a chronic infection (pelvic inflammatory syndrome) or irritable bowel syndrome. For this reason, I recommend performing a urine bacterial culture, a vaginal discharge bacterial culture and an abdominal ultrasound. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
