Suggest Remedy To Get Rid Of Scar Left Behind By Herpes

Hello, i got a herpes infection on my buttocks. It started last year, and last 2nd week of august I had my last outbreak. I visited an OB before, but she just check the lesion and prescribed me with a anti bacterial ointment and it helps. But, she never tried to do a test on it to figure out what is it. I am a nurse, so I did some research about my situation. And figure out, it was a herpes. But hell, it leaves a scar. I have an outbreak like 2-3 times a year, but I didn t take any pill at all. Plan to take anti viral meds. Do you know what sort of cream that help me get rid of this ugly scar ?

Hi.
As per your case history of herpes ( it must be herpes simplex as it has occurred to you multiple times)
My treatment advice is -
1. We need to check the type of scar - whether it is hypo pigmentation or a atrophy.
2. Usually the lesion subside on its own. For hypo pigmentation you can apply tacrolimus 0.03 % ointment twice daily. For atrophy you can apply tretinoin 0.025 %once at night.
3. To prevent further outbreak of herpes you need to consult a dermatologist and get antiviral medicine like acyclovir started.
