Suggest Remedy To Keep Uvula From Sticking To Throat While Laying Down
I m awaken very often at night because I have difficulty swallowing. The little thing that hangs from the top of my throat sticks to the back of my throat. I have to get up many times to drink water, or spray throat spray, or suck on a throat lozenge. This is very cumbersome and I am losing sleep.
The little thing that hangs from the top of throat is called uvula . It direct any nasal secretion ( Post nasal discharge ) back in throat .
If secretion become thick due to allergy & infection it will get stick in back of throat .
If I were your treating doctor , I would advice you
Plenty of fluids , Steam Inhalation twice daily , Saline nasal spray thrice daily & Antihistaminic levocetirizine + Montelukast combination at night .
Certainly above treatment will give you much relief but if relief is not upto satisfaction level then consultation with your ENT doctor will become essential.
Hope above information helpful to you , take care. Regards
