This is for my sister. She has calcified hairs coming out of her skin. She said it feels like needles in her skin. Also if she pulls out the hard splinter like hair out, another one comes out and pulls it out and it keeps happening..... Her hair on her head is also coming out.?????? The doc put her on Keflex 500mg every 6 hours for 10 days, she thinks it was an overdose or an allergic reaction?????? I am very concerned for her... She won t go anywhere or see anyone:-((( can u help her?

There is no such term called calcified hairs....your sister might be having hirsutism in which person developed terminal hairs which are thick and dark black hairs present in male pattern like chin, chest, abdomen...due to their hardness she might called them calcified...the condition has multiple causes like hormonal causes like polycystic ovarian disease, adrenal problem, hyperandrogenism, ovarian causes, iatrogenic cause...i suggest you to visit a dermatologist or an endocrinologist for full evaluation of the cause in your case..
