Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
You probably have Androgenetic Alopecia, which is genetically predetermined patterned hair loss from the top/frontal part of the scalp. There is gradually progressive decrease in hair density and hair thinning from this part of the scalp. This may also be associated with a gradually progressive recession of anterior hair line. Minoxidil is approved for this type of hair loss along with Oral Finasteride. The goal of treatment is to arrest further progression and reverse early loss. Treatment is long term; results are usually apparent in 3-6 months and are maximal at 1 - 2 years. The improvement has to maintained with once daily minoxidil and once daily finasteride for the rest of life. These are prescription medications and therefore, I suggest you to use these under the supervision of a dermatologist.
