Hello,

You have severe headache. You have been taking prescription medicines for 2 weeks given by a neurologist but there is no improvement. You cannot neglect headaches, sometimes they can be fatal. A stroke can also cause severe headache without any obvious cause. A stroke or TIA occurs when the blood circulation in the brain gets affected / disturbed. Other medical factors that may cause severe headache is internal bleeding or brain tumor.

You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get all blood and imaging (CT, MRI, carotid ultrasound, cerebral angiogram, echocardiogram, etc.) done at the earliest. You will be treated accordingly. Stay away from addictions if any. Do not skip meals, take food in time. Stay well hydrated to maintain a normal body electrolyte system. Dehydration and hypoglycemia also causes headache. Stay away from anxiety and stress.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

If this is a new onset headache. First, go for a CT of the brain or other imaging to rule out organic issues. Stop taking routine painkillers / N-saids. Take tab Amitriptyline half at night for one week then a full tab and continue it. Take oral steroids tablet for 5 days with a PPI as it might cause you stomach upset. Wait and see.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
