Hallow Dear,

You are having implants for birth control. These implants release Progesterone slowly over months to achieve birth control. Though they are known to cause intermittent spotting, low menstruation and sometimes irregularity in menstruation, they are quite reliable birth control methods.
Hence I feel, it is very unlikely that you are pregnant.

Dark spotting, weight gain, nausea & vomiting and breast engorgement with tenderness can all be due to Progesterone effect also. However, darkening of the nipples and areola is pointing towards pregnancy.

However, I feel you should not take any hasty decision of terminating ?possible pregnancy before missing a period and confirming the pregnancy. 8-10 days after missed period, pregnancy test on overnight first morning urine sample can detect the pregnancy; done earlier these tests can give false negative results. You have another option to go for Beta hCG test which can detect the pregnancy even few days before missing a period.

If the pregnancy is detected, then you may opt for medical termination of pregnancy. This method is safe and successful up to 9 weeks of gestation. Tab. Mifepristone followed after 24-48 hours by Tab. Misoprostol terminate the pregnancy successfully. Since, these medicines cause developmental abnormalities in baby, in case of failure of these medicines, the pregnancy should not be continued but terminated by surgical evacuation of the uterus. These medicines are not 'over the counter' medicines. They have to be obtained only by Obstetrician's prescription and should be taken under observation.

I always advise to have a follow up visit to the Obstetrician after 7 days. The completeness of the abortion can be ascertained by ultrasonography.

I hope this guides you for future steps.
