Hello, im 21 years old. I once had itching on my right ear and after I itched, my finger smelt bad. When I looked at my ear, it had a tiny hole and the pus was coming out of that. At that time, I didn t pay much attention and thought I probably got a cut and that it would heal soon. Now, it s been around two months and it s still there and a couple of days ago, I got the same hole on ny left ear too. This one doesn t discharge any liquid but it s the same in size and on the same position. I searched over the internet and found out that it s called preauricular pit. But I don t have it since birth, I just got these. But now I m very worried. Is it dangerous?
Hi, by your history it looks like you are having preauricular sinus, which is always congenital (from birth), it usually does not cause any problem, only when it's infected it will lead to severe pain and swelling of preauricular region, in which case it has to be excised once active infection subsides. My advice for you is to consult an Ent specialist to confirm diagnosis, take care.
