Suggest Shingles Vaccination When Allergic To Neomycin
My doctor has recommended the shingles vaccine for me, but I have had a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics with mycin) in the name of the drug. I cannot use a Z-Pack, for example, but use drugs such as Cipro instead for antibiotic usage. Doesn t the shingles vaccine pose a problem for those allergic to neomycin?

Suggest Shingles Vaccination When Allergic To Neomycin
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic There are certain contraindications to the use of the shingles vaccine, this means certain situations in which the medication cannot be used. These are : (1) history of allergy to neomycin or gelatin (2)suppressed immune system eg HIV, cancer or on immune There is no history of cross reaction to z pak but if you have a history of allergy to neomycin then it should not be used. I hope this helps
