Hi I have a 2 and half year old boy weight 11.6 kg. (Medical History: He had 2 attacks of febrile sezure last year.) He had some cold 2 weeks back. When we took him to doctor , he prscribed him nabulisation with asthalin , budecort and duolin . The Nabulisations were give for 5-6 days. After that kid is fine. Then doctor prescribed a medine named Romilast 4 mg tablet daily at 6 PM for next 2 months. Please tell me benefits and side effects of Romilast.
Romilast contains montelukast which belongs to the group of medications known as leukotriene receptor antagonists is used to treat asthma and allergic symptoms like sneezing and runny nose. It works by blocking the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation in the airways to prevent asthma and relieve symptoms of allergies. Side effects of Romilast are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, abdominal pain, dry mouth, tiredness, weakness, sleepiness, dizziness, drowsiness, indigestion, shakiness, joint pain, muscle aches, sweating, irregular heartbeat, trouble sleeping, unusual bruising, tremor, allergic reactions etc.
