Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I want to know about side effects of zyrcold pediatric syrup for long term use(1month or more). Bcz my 3 1/2 yr old son is very much allergic in these seasons - rain and winter. And we have to give him zyrcold almost everyday evening. Is it harmful for him?
Zyrcold pediatric syrup contains both cetirizine and ambroxol that is used in the treatment of allergic condition and its associated symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, itching, congested or stuffy nose and loosen mucus etc. Side effects of this medication for long term use are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dryness of mouth, sleepiness, weakness, tiredness, dizziness etc. But these side effects are mild and usually go away over time without any medication. But this medication should be taken in the dose and duration as directed by the doctor. You should not give this medication to your child without consulting the doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
