Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What is a good substitute for clindamycin? My GYN prescribed this to me for 4 refills and months later my symptoms are returning. I don t think they ever fully healed but right now I don t have insurance plus the previous GYN refused to give me anymore or even help me in determining what I should do next. Could something over-the-counter work?
Depends a bit on the underlying condition. A cephalosporin is generally used or augmentin (ampicillan with a blocker of bacterial resistance). But these are not as good against staph as clindamycin.
