Hi
thanks for contacting HCM
your wife is on deriphyllin Rtd for since last two years. and you are scarred about the side effect and wants to change on inhaler.
As per your doctor he is thinking about Chronic obstructive airway diseases.
COPD- COPD, or chronic obstructive pulmonary (PULL-mun-ary) disease, is a progressive disease that makes it hard to breathe. "Progressive" means the disease gets worse over time.

COPD can cause coughing that produces large amounts of mucus (a slimy substance), wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and other symptoms.

Cigarette smoking is the leading cause of COPD. Most people who have COPD smoke or used to smoke. Long-term exposure to other lung irritants—such as air pollution, chemical fumes, or dust and Old Indian Coal Chulha —also may contribute to COPD.
Before prescribe a Inhaler need the latest report of PFT ( Pulmonary function test). Inhaler will prescribe only after severity of disease . If not responding to Deriphyline needs some additional drug. Please discuss with your doctor or review with Chest Physician or Pulmonologist near to you.
