Suggest Suitable Diet For An 8 Month Old Child

My son is now 8months old. am giving my son Cerelac (Rice, Wheat and Wheat-apple) since he was 5 months old. Earlier he used to have it once a day (2oz).. now I am giving him 2-3ce a day (3oz each time). Is it ok to continue like this. Apart from Cerelac I give him a boiled rice, masoor dal, potato, carrot and pumpkin - boiled together and mashed. This he takes 2ce a day. (this is from his 7th month onwards) Nan-pro in between as per demand.

What you are doing is proper. However,
Offer foods like mashed rice with curd, dal, khichdi or any seasonal vegetables and fruit. Include a variety of soft finger foods.

This is also the time to start offering finger foods such as:
sticks of well-cooked carrot
bite sized pieces of soft fleshy fruits such as muskmelon (kharbooja), watermelon, sapotas (cheeku), ripe papaya, pear, mango or banana
unsalted breadsticks
boiled potato wedges
small pieces of paneer
toast
slices of cucumber
peeled slices of apple

You baby may now enjoy foods that are more filling and have stronger flavours. You can introduce :
soft well cooked pasta shapes
bite sized steamed vegetables - such as peas, beans, cauliflower, carrot
breads (avoid granary or multigrain breads for now because the hard pieces may increase the risk of choking)
bite sized pieces of paranthas and chapatis
small cubes or pieces of cheese or paneer
rice cakes or mini idlis
lentils and other cooked pulses (avoid heavy and hard-to-digest chana dal, chhola and rajma)
dark green leafy vegetables, such as spinach
soft, cooked lean meat such as chicken or carefully de-boned fish
chicken nuggets
puffed rice
breadsticks made of millet
Hope that help.
