Suggest Supplements For A 5 Year Old To Gain Weight

Hi doctor Fatima, My son is 5 years Old and he is underweight. We tried all foods and diet but no use. Can you please. Suggest some healthy way. Or supplement. Which doesn t have. Side effects. Thanks for the query.
If your child is not eating enough food and otherwise looks alright following measures can be of help.
Please increase his physical activity (playful activity in a group/cycling/structured play in a park) so as to tire him a little more, which will increase his dietary intake.
Please give vitamin D as supplement to him (400 units --tab ostocalcium kid 1 tab once daily after meals) unless he is already getting enough vitamin D in fortified food items.
Please get routine stool routine urine and blood counts done and if they show any abnormality, then he requires to be treated accordingly.
Try variety of healthy nutritious and appealing food in comfortable environment and in colorful cutlery to make him exicted about the food.
