I just had surgery on my knee today and during the surgery, I was awake and watching on the screen, my doctor discovered I had a buckled meniscus tear, a very bad one...what is the severity of this type of injury? I have been treated since the end of April for this and was told by my Doc it never showed up on my MRI. I ve had two aspirations, two cortisone shots, a 10 course of steroids, anti-inflame for almost 3 months, antibiotics for two months with rehab as well...how can something like this be missed? I have had locking the whole time and finally my knee finally started just going out without warning.. I also had to have the cartilage scraped..I m 52 female and very athletic and very strong legs..just don t know what this means as far as the severity of this..can you help me understand?
