Suggest Tests To Detect Mite Infestation Of Walking Dandruff Of Skin

I have all the symptoms of walking dandruff . My dermatologist did not see a mite on the samples I took to him. There was one piece of lint in every batch that was larger to the eye than others. He could not see any difference in these. Said it was all either lint, dry skin or dust particles. What strength microscope would detect a mite? Hazel

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

It is a delusion of parasitosis. It is a just psychological condition in which you feel that some mite or parasite walks on your skin. It is just a sensation. It is not real. The skin debris seems to be a parasite. There is no parasite in reality.

You may discuss with your dermatologist and also you can take the opinion of a psychiatrist. You may take fluoxetine twice a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
