My daughter went to the urgent care because of itchy throat back of throat Dr said it looked like cobblestones bumps He did a swab test for strep came out negative but he recommended Claritin for allergies Is there any other test she can take to maybe rule out staph?
Hello welcome to hcm. Swab test is proper for staph infection. Another one is culture of blood which is done by microbiologist which has very good results but it takes time. For throat infection, take broad spectrum antibiotics after consulting your doctor. Take steam inhalation 3-4 times a day. Take paracetamol for pain and fever. Take cetirizine for associated cold or allergy. Thanks for contacting. Take care...
