Suggest The Best Cure For Menstrual Cramps And Vomiting Sensation During Periods
My daughter is 31 years old. She started her period at 14 . Ever since about age 17 she has had horrific cramps that have sent her to bed . Today she said they were so bad she vomited . Her gyn doc has never really addressed this problem for her other than take ibuprofen or use a heating pad . She never prescribed any kind of pain med or other form of relief for her. She is so fed up with the situation, can you suggest any kind of help to relieve her pain?
Dysmenorrhea might be due to many conditions like endometriosis, fibroids, infections etc. Your daughter is 31 & if she is married, I would advice her to: - plan for pregnancy - Hot compress in abdomen & back - Keep bowels empty - Avoid food containing caffeine, alcohol - Encourage normal activities & YOGA - Cap. Meftal spas for cramps - If not responding to the above line of treatment, endometriosis should be rule out. Kindly do a USG pelvis - consult your gynaecologist for further assistance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.
Regards, Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
