OK I am interested learning about the correct dose of hydrocodone APAP5-325. What do those letters and numbers stand for? I can take 1 tablet by mouth every 4 hours as needed for chronic pain syndrome? On a good day I don t need that much. Is that OK? Thank you.

Hydrocodone APAP 5-325 contains Hydrocodone Bitartrate 5 mg and Acetaminophen 325 mg; dosage-Adults: PO 1 to 2 tablets or capsules (Hydrocodone 5 mg; Acetaminophen 500 mg) q 4 to 6 hr as needed or prescribed.
APAP comes from its chemical name N-acetyl-para-aminophenol (Acetaminophen/Paracetamol). 5-325 comes from 5 mg Hydrocodone and 325 mg Acetaminophen.
