Hello...I think I may help u in this problem..
From the details given here, I can assume your husband might be having a benign type of
epilepsy, known as Primary Generalized Epilepsy (PGE)..
Although, to confirm that, I would require reports of brain
MRI and EEG..
As far as treatment is concerned, epilepsy treatment depends on the type of seizures and also on the type of epilepsy..
With the type of ur epilepsy (assuming PGE), it can be well controlled with medications..
Eptoin 300mg is a good drug, but comes with a few side effects..He needs to avoid staying hungry, avoid
stress and take proper night time sleep..With such adequate precautions, risk of seizures can be reduced..He needs to take vitamin supplements along with eptoin due to the risk of possible
vitamin deficiency as a side effect..The duration of treatment is atleast 3 years of seizure free duration, following which drug can be gradually reduced in certain types of epilepsies..
Hope my suggestions were of help to u..Feel free to clear any further concerns..All d best!
