Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Last week my blood pressure went up and is still elevated with Norvasc. I also am having hematuria, shortness of breath and pain below my right ribs, is it all connected ? My pressure is running between 138/90 to as high as 158/108 , the hematuria lasted about 4 hours with chills and clots in my urine. the rib pain started this afternoon.
Hello welcome to HCM. I have read your question and understand your concerns. Hypertension may be increased due to kidney problem which might be temporary.
It seems that you might have caught urinary tract infection like cystitis or kidney infection which causes haematuria, clots, chills with body pain. Due to acute infection blood pressure will be fluctuated for temporary period.
My advice to you is - 1.Do your urine routine Micro report, sonography of kidneys and urinary bladder. Also go for total kidney profile report to see if any kidney injury is there or not.
2.Blood pressure near 150/90 during this peperiod can be allowable. So need to suddenly change drug or dose at present. Just Continue BP monitoring, continue tab norvasc regularly and show all your reports to concerned doctor.
Thank you. Hope I hhave satisfied your question.
