Suggest Therapy For Stroke

how long does TPA work in the body. In other words. My Mother in law got it yesterday at 1:30. Sehas only gotten part of her function back. The stroke was on the right side and it affected her speech as well. She is speaking a little better but still having trouble getting her thoughts to come out in words. She can barely move her right arm now, and a little with the foot. Should we expect more improvement or has the TPA stopped working now?

There is no define time we can say till when it will be working in body once injected. Still as per the dosage it will give effect till 12 to 15hrs. But understand one thing it can not be given in higher dosage also because the chance of more intracranial bleeding goes up. Now coming back to your question patient will have some symptoms as per the severity of stroke and the damage in brain. As well it takes time to recover from it. Even minor attack of stroke also some times take the week time to improve. I suggest to do mri brain and consult neuro physician to have details on patient condition. And do take physio also for early rehabitation.
